Do you want to get organized, but have no idea where to begin? This is a list of suggested checklist ideas that are helpful, interesting, and may even keep you organized.
The purpose of a checklist is to give you a place to write things down so you will have less to remember. Consider using these checklist ideas.
  • Recipes I Want To Make
When you see a recipe or collect one from a friend, write down the type of dish, name of the recipe, recipe book and page number (if applicable), and notes about the dish. If this recipe would be suitable for a certain occasion, include that in the category or checklist title.
  • Funny Things My Child Says or Does
If you have a young child, I'm sure there are many cute things they say or do that are worth remembering. Write them down as soon as they happen because you and your child will forget them as time goes on. If it is something the child said or the way they pronounced a word, write the word phonetically. This list will be read and shared many times in the years to come. As the child grows, these memorable events will become a part of their identity even if they were too young to remember when it happened.
  • Gifts I Have Given or Received
It is easy to forget what gifts were given or received. This is interesting list to refer to as the years go on. It is also nice to tell a person thank you again after you have used a gift for a long time...just so they know it is being used and really was appreciated.
  • Donations And Value for Tax Deduction
When you have something to donate, put the item in a garbage bag or large box and at that same time write down on your Donations Checklist the following items:
    • Description of item
    • The condition of the item(s)
    • Approximate value or what you would sell it for
    • How the donated item was received and the purchase price (if possible)
  • To Do Lists
It is helpful to have several to-do-lists, each with their own topic or location such as errands, grocery store items, job-related, appointments, etc.
  • How To Lists for an Event, Occasion, or Project
We have provided several how-to lists on our website. We hope they are helpful.
  • Lists of Good Ideas
When you learn of a creative idea, write it down. An item that is written down is more likely to be remembered.
  • Books I Have Read

Read a book then write down the name of the book, summary, date it was started and finished. Not only is this an interesting journal, it is a great way to remember what books you have read and whether you want to recommend them to others.

This is also helpful for keeping track of good movies you have seen.

  • Books I Want To Read

When you hear about a good book, write it down. Visit a book review site and add to your list interesting books you find there. Then, when you feel like reading a good book, refer back to your Books I Want To Read checklist.

This is also helpful for keeping track of good movies you want to watch.
